To depict fantastic animal or plant possible by the combination of the parts of different plants or animals or by reduplication by doubling, by trebling and so forth. The already existing elements. Classical example - dragon - the connection of lizard and of bat, many-headed; also Mynotaur, Chimera, Hydra, etc.
